We love recipes that put a twist on a classic so when we saw this White Hot Chocolate recipe on Pinterest we just knew we had to include it in our tried and tested post. Swapping traditional chocolate flavours for the much sweeter variety caused a little bit of concern among the team involved in this project, but it soon become clear we had no need to worry as this was absolutely delicious and our double walled glass teacups were just the right size for the perfect amount of sweetness without it become too sickly.
We love that this white hot chocolate tasted more like a flavoured milk than a liquid chocolate, and this recipe from Celebrating Sweets is sure to be a big hit with children and adults alike.
We topped our hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows as we have a major sweet tooth here at ProCook HQ, but we recommend that you carefully have a little taste before serving as you still have time to add a little salt to reduce the sweetness to your taste if you find this a little sickly.
Who says hot chocolate is just for the kids? We think this white hot chocolate is a great base for adding in a drop or two of alcohol to turn this into a delicious treat for grown ups to enjoy, perhaps peppermint schnapps, marshmallow vodka (yes, this exists!) or a drop of Baileys will help turn this into a secretly enhanced version for the adults to tuck into while the little ones tuck into their virgin versions with glee.
This recipe scored highly amongst our chief testers here in the office but don’t just take our word for it, when it’s this easy to make anyone can give it a go and you will find the original recipe below.
