The deep red colour is deceiving as this fruity recipe is wonderfully light and refreshing thanks to three simple ingredients – vodka, peach schnapps and cherry juice, that’s it! The simplicity of this drink lends itself to perfectly to garnishes, why not dust the rim of your champagne glasses with sugar and finish with half a strawberry for a little romantic flair?
To make your Love Potion you will need
To really elevate the flavours of your Love Potion you’ll need to shake the ingredients together using a cocktail shaker. A jigger will also be needed to measure out your liquids and it also makes it easy to increase or decrease quantities depending on how many guests you’re serving. Dusting the rim of your glass with sugar is a simple way of making your cocktail feel even more special. Gently dip your glass onto a shallow plate of water before placing onto a plate of sugar and twisting slightly. Tap off the excess and voila, it really is that easy!
This recipe calls for ice so don’t forget to make plenty in advance using an ice cube tray. For those with a sweet tooth add a couple of halved strawberries to the bottom of your glass before pouring. They’ll absorb the flavours of your cocktail for a tasty sweet treat once your drink is finished.

Love Potion Cocktail
Ingredients
For the cocktail
- 70 ml vodka
- 60 ml peach schnapps
- 250 ml cherry juice
- 1 handful ice cubes
For the garnish
- 200 g caster sugar
- 4 strawberries (halved)
Instructions
- Dip the rim of your glasses into water before gently dipping into a plate of sugar. Tap off the excess and set aside.
- Add the cocktail ingredients to a shaker and shake until well combined.
- Add a couple of ice cubes to each glass and pour the cocktail mix over the top.
- Garnish with a couple of halved strawberries and serve immediately.
