Not for the faint-hearted this sweet treat is a true reminded of childhood and devouring ice cream sundaes by the beach on family holidays. Swap the strawberry for a cherry for a more authentic ice cream sundae and change the ice cream flavour to one of your choice to really customise your dessert. But be warned, make this dessert straight onto a plate or bowl as the ice cream and chocolate sauce will run as you tuck in!
Just like your favourite ice cream sundae, you can swap and change elements to this doughnut to your heart’s content! Why not try raspberry ripple ice cream with a raspberry sauce and white chocolate curls, or a chocolate lover’s heaven with chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate sauce and crumbled chocolate brownie pieces? If this topping isn’t quite doing it for you don’t panic! We have a number of other indulgent toppings for you to try here.
We love nothing more than a recipe that calls for things you already have in the kitchen, and this one of them. The only tool you need to put this topping together is an ice cream scoop!
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 tbsp hundreds and thousands
- 2 strawberries
- 2 tbsp chocolate sauce
- 2 ring doughnuts
- Place 1 scoop of ice cream on top of the doughnut in the centre (covering the hole).
- Sprinkle with hundreds and thousands and then drizzle over the chocolate sauce.
- Top with your whole strawberry and tuck in!
