We were over the moon to see our gold cutlery fly off the shelves and if you were one of the lucky ones who got their hands on a set you may be left wondering how you should style it. Well, have no fear – we have expert help on the form of Lotte Brouwer, the author of beautiful interiors blog Yes Please who has put together a post packed with not only a step-by-step guide of how to style your dining table but loads of great inspiration pictures she’s gathered from far and wide to really get your creative juices flowing.

Layering tableware is a great way to really make an impact at your dining table, especially using contrasting colours, patterns and textures to draw the eye in. Tying the cutlery in with a specific element of the tableware helps avoid it looking too erratic and random, bringing the final look altogether in a way that doesn’t look overdone but still well considered, a balance that is often difficult to get right. We love how Lotte has used a spotted napkin to balance out the speckled top plate, sitting either side of the bolder patterned plate that ties in oh-so-beautifully with the gold cutlery placed to the side. Initially it may look ‘thrown together’ but when you look a little closer you realise that actually a lot of thought has gone into this design and that’s the secret to styling your gold cutlery like Lotte, balancing the boldness of the metallic finish with a gentler and softer design to create a bright, colourful and uplifting table setting perfect for cold and dreary winter days.
