Eating healthy has always been a challenge – who wants to put down that nice piece of cake and instead have a raw carrot? Here at ProCook, we feel your pain!

Fortunately, we’re nothing if not resourceful (and modest), so we’ll be bringing you healthy and tasty alternatives to these waist-bulging snacks!

This easy-to-make recipe uses simple, easily accessible vegetables, finely cut with a mandoline slicer for a crispy finish. Serve with humus, or one our tasty dip recipes, for a delicious twist on the classic crisp!

Instructions
  1. Peel the vegetables and cut into small, circular slices using a mandolin slicer.
  2. Place vegetable slices between paper towels to absorb excess moisture.
  3. Mix all seasoning ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Put vegetable slices in a separate bowl, lather with oil and then coat with ingredients.
  5. Heat oven to 180C.
  6. Put seasoned vegetables on a non-stick baking sheet, and place on lower shelf of oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Check your ‘crisps’ aren’t burning, give them a shake, and put back in for the remaining 5-10 minutes to ensure they go golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, and give 10 minutes for crisps to cool and crisp (no pun intended).
