Mix up your dishes with this oriental delicacy. Homemade gyoza is simple to make and delicious, either as a starter, appetiser or a midday snack. Serve with soy sauce for a veggie dish with a great flavour!

In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cornflour and soy sauce.
Add the oil to a non-stick frying pan and add the garlic, spring onion and ginger and fry for a few seconds.
Stir-fry the cabbage for 2 minutes until softened. Add the soy sauce mixture to the frying pan until the cabbage is coated.
Remove from the heat and cool.
Place 2 tsps of cabbage mixture into the centre of a gyoza wrapper.
Lightly coat the edges with water and seal the sides together.
Pleat the sides together and add extra water.
Fry the wrappers for a further 2 minutes before adding 60ml of water to the pan.
Cover with the lid then cook until the water is gone and the wrappers and thoroughly cooked.
